Election 1988 and JAAG PUNJABI JAAG Slogan in Pakistan

It’s 1988. When elections were going on in Pakistan. The two strongest parties in the election were the People’s Party and the other the N-League.

The chairman of the PPP was Benazir Bhutto. While the PML-N was the Muslim League at that time His chairman was Nawaz Sharif. Nawaz Sharif had the support of the then intelligence and other generals.

The People’s Party contested from all parties in the election. When the elections were held, the PPP won. And Benazir became prime minister.

The Muslim League was terrified of losing this election. But now she could do that in Punjab. Mian Nawaz Sharif started rallies in Punjab. And made the people against each other. Nawaz Sharif chanted slogans of waking Punjabi in his rallies.

This slogan created a divide between Sindhi and Punjabi. Both were against each other. Since Mian Nawaz Sharif was a Punjabi, he got votes in this slogan in Punjab and won a huge majority in Punjab.
